Further to my original report, below, the log-file catalina.out shows that the
original exception is an InvocationTargetException which is caught and
rethrown as a SystemException at line 436 of
uk.org.ogsadai.porttype.gds.engine.Task

Here's the try block from which the exception was chucked:

Class.forName("uk.org.ogsadai.common.Context")};

                Context context = (Context)mContext.clone();

                mActivity = (Activity)activityConstructor.newInstance(new
Object[] {element, context});

            catch (InvocationTargetException e)

Any ideas?
