Nice to see people trying out the hard stuff with our code!
To answer your questions:
We have included GSI support in OGSADAI, although it hasn't been heavily
tested in Release1. The basic support is via the OGSA TechPreview 4 base
that we stand on, so if you use the httpg tranport to get to your OGSADAI
GridDataService or GridDataServiceFactory (i.e. a URL of
httpg://server:port/ogsa/services/GridDataServiceFactory) and your
certificates and jars are set up correctly (see the OGSA TP4 docs for this)
then it should all work OK.
We also use the DN from your user certificate (passed through from the
client) to do the rolemapping of a DN onto a userid and password for access
to the database - your DN needs to be in the rolemapping xml file to enable
you access to the DB (even if your DB doesn't need a userid & passwd) . If
things don't seem to be working, check the server logs to see if your DN is
being correctly recognized and mapped.
OGSADAI does not directly use the grid-mapfile, but I expect it is or can
be used by OGSA for the GSI support (although I'm not entirely sure).

Hi,
How do I turn GSI on and off ? I haven't been able to use ogsadai
with GSI. My DN is "/O=Grid/O=Globus/OU=isi.edu/CN=Shishir S. Bharathi"
The format used in the Role map file seems to be different. I have tried
the above format and some variants which don't seem to work.
Further, does ogsadai use the grid-mapfile ?
